The Soul

Product
Supporting voice-first principles through visual interactions
Designing and developing visual gestures and interactive patterns that represent the core voice-UI of a product. Building upon voice-first principles and brand guidelines, we used physically embedded, low-resolution interfaces to explore how an artificial intelligence might represent itself in a visual form.
Some of the key questions:
How can a voice assistant communicate through different modalities in situations where voice is less than preferable? (loud surroundings; public or private spaces)
What visual cues communicate the voice assistant's intelligence, that are on-brand and representative of the scenario and use-case?
How do we embed these interactions into the physicality of the environment and materials, while preserving a premium experience?
Alongside our client, we concepted and designed visual expressions for the product's in-development voice-UI. Through an iterative building and user-testing process, we were able to finetune the core visual communication, leading to the development of unique, validated product features.
